Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Denver, CO

Kristy Sheffey, MS, PMHNP EXTERN, RN

Kristy is a psychiatric nurse practitioner committed to providing holistic and integrative mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. She combines traditional psychiatric care with holistic approaches that promote healing and well-being, such as mindfulness, sleep hygiene practices, grounding techniques, lifestyle modification, and herbal supplements or medications if indicated.

Whether you’re processing new stress or haven’t felt like yourself in a while, Kristy can work with you to create an individualized plan tailored to your specific concerns and needs. She prioritizes building trust and collaboration while providing a safe space for individuals to feel empowered to have an active role in their mental health care.

Kristy works with all mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, trauma, grief, and attention and concentration disturbances. With a background in inpatient pediatric behavioral health, she is well-equipped to work with children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral and emotional concerns, as well as caregivers of children experiencing those concerns. She is also prepared to give sensitive care to those who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault, as she has valuable experience as a sexual assault nurse examiner.

Kristy’s passions also extend to working with public service workers such as nurses, physicians, paramedics, and fire-fighters. She empathizes with the mentally and physically taxing nature of public service positions and wants to assist you in holistically addressing your mental health concerns.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, bouldering, and hiking with her partner and their two dogs.
