Strengthen Your Connection: Couples Therapy at Peak Interactive Wellness
At Peak Interactive Wellness, we understand that relationships don’t come with an instruction manual—and sometimes even solid partnerships hit rough patches. That’s why we’re pleased to offer specialized couples therapy led by Wendy Tran, a trained practitioner of the Gottman Method, tailored for couples seeking deeper connection, healthier communication, and lasting relational satisfaction.
Here’s what you need to know:
What We Offer
Gottman Couples Therapy: Wendy Tran brings advanced training in the Gottman Method, a rigorous, research-based approach to couples work grounded in the “Sound Relationship House” model.
90-Minute Sessions: Each session is extended to 90 minutes—allowing us time to explore both partners’ needs, patterns, and relational dynamics in depth. This aligns with best practice for Gottman-style work.
Flexible Format: We offer your choice of in-person therapy at our RiNo (Denver) location or telehealth sessions—so you can engage from home if that’s more comfortable.
Transparent Pricing:
Initial session: $230 (includes a relational self-test valued at $30)
Subsequent sessions: $200 each
Please note: We do not accept insurance for couples therapy—this allows us to work freely and confidentially, without third-party constraints.
Warm, Client-Centered Approach: As a practice rooted in holistic mental health and individualized care, we meet couples with empathy, active listening, and collaborative planning—so you feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Why Choose the Gottman Method?
The Gottman Method isn’t a pop-psych quick fix—it’s the result of over four decades of empirical research conducted by John Gottman and Julie Gottman, including studies of thousands of couples and long-term follow-ups.
Three core areas of focus: strengthening friendship (knowing each other deeply), managing conflict (not eliminating it, but handling it constructively), and creating shared meaning (building rituals, values, and narratives together).
Structured, skill-based intervention: Couples learn to replace destructive patterns—such as contempt, defensiveness, criticism, or stonewalling—with positive interaction, repair attempts, and mutual influence.
Widely applicable: The method works for couples at any stage—dating, married, long-term, same-sex—you name it.
Proven outcomes: Studies suggest that couples working with the Gottman Method experience improved satisfaction, reduced conflict, stronger intimacy, and sustained change.
When Is It a Good Time to Seek Couples Therapy?
You don’t have to wait until crisis mode to reach out. Couples therapy is appropriate when you notice patterns like:
Repeated arguments about the same issues (so-called “perpetual conflicts”) where you feel stuck.
A growing emotional distance—feeling more like roommates than partners.
Communication breakdowns: you avoid speaking, you criticize, you feel unheard.
Life-transitions that strain your bond: parenthood, job change, relocation, illness, grief.
You simply want to strengthen your relationship—enhancing connection, preventing future drift, or entering a new phase thoughtfully.
If you notice one or both partners feeling unfulfilled, isolated, or stuck despite being committed—and you’re ready to invest time and energy into the process.
It’s less appropriate if one partner is unwilling to engage or if there is ongoing untreated domestic violence; in those cases, specialized support is required.
What to Expect When You Work With Us
Initial Session ($230 – 90 minutes): We begin with a joint session where both partners meet with Wendy. Included in the price is a relational self-test that helps map strengths and growth areas.
Subsequent Sessions ($200 each – 90 minutes): We build on the foundation—exploring communication patterns, strengthening emotional connection, setting relational goals, and practicing new skills.
In-Person or Telehealth: You choose the modality that fits your lifestyle—our RiNo office in Denver, or the comfort of your own space.
Commitment to Skill Practice: Between sessions you may receive “homework” or relational exercises—not as busywork, but as meaningful practice to reinforce change. The most effective couples engage actively between sessions.
Personalized Roadmap: Though we use the Gottman framework, our approach centers you—your unique history, strengths, challenges—so we tailor interventions to your journey.
No Insurance Hassle: Because we don’t accept insurance for couples work, you’ll enjoy full confidentiality and therapeutic focus—without the constraints of insurance-mandated sessions.
