About Kara Bockrath,
MS, PMHNP-BC, EXTERN

Kara is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner extern dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative, and holistic mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. She works with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that may include therapy, lifestyle modifications, stress and sleep interventions, and medication when appropriate. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their care.

With a background in critical care, Kara has supported patients and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. This experience has equipped her to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing grief, uncertainty, and emotional distress.
She also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents and tailors care to each patient’s unique needs and goals.

Kara treats a variety of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and grief. She believes the best outcomes come from collaboration and works closely with patients and families to develop treatment plans together.

Outside of work, Kara enjoys rock climbing, hiking, scuba diving, skiing and traveling.
